Description

Who is this course for?

Anyone wishing to undertake Door Supervisor training now must be in possession of a one-day Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. You need to be able to produce this certificate on day one of your Door Supervisor course.

Topics covered:

These include the nature, purpose and period of validity of a personal licence, the application process and legal duties when applying for a personal licence, the legal duties of a personal licence holder, the roles, responsibilities and functions of licensing authorities, the nature and strength of alcohol and the effect on the body and the law in relation to premises licences.

Whether a sole trader or public-sector business, all employers have a legal duty to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or are taken ill at work. This legislation is laid out in Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 – updated 2015.

It doesn’t matter whether the injury or illness is caused by the work they do, what is important is that they receive immediate attention and that an ambulance is called in serious cases. However, please remember that the ambulance will not arrive instantaneously, and it is vital to know how to give immediate and appropriate first aid and stabilise the casualty whilst waiting for the emergency services to arrive. Therefore, it is essential that some or all of your employees are First Aid trained.
